Everyday Fractions
Everyday we eat foods and use fractions to figure out the amounts. Parents, when you are figuring out how many pizzas to order based on how many kids are at your sleep over or pool party, share your thinking out loud. Solve together and make it a family math task. Share the cost and multiply or add to find the cost. This math process is real, natural, and everyday thinking. The more real world problems our kids solve, the more real their learning is.
